PDF document
PDF is the standard for sharing documents that must look the same everywhere. Fonts, layout and images are fixed, and it opens on any device. That also makes PDFs hard to edit.
Extensions: .pdf
Convert PDF files to Markdown on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto Markdown in Filee's format donut and the Markdown files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one PDF file or as many as you like.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over Markdown. A progress ring counts up, and each Markdown file is saved next to its original.
Filee turns the PDF into a Word document first and then into Markdown, keeping paragraphs, headings and bold text where it can tell them apart. Useful for notes, wikis or pasting the text into other tools. Scanned pages have no text to convert.
