How to convert PNG to JPG on Windows

    Select your PNG files

    In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one PNG file or as many as you like.

    Hold Ctrl and drag

    Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.

    Drop on JPG

    Release the files over JPG. A progress ring counts up, and each JPG file is saved next to its original.

What Filee does for PNG → JPG

Screenshots and exported photos saved as PNG can be many megabytes. Photos usually shrink dramatically as JPG; for text-heavy screenshots and logos, PNG often stays the better format.

  • Built in: works right after installing Filee, with nothing else to download.
  • Engine: ImageMagick.
  • Adjustable quality for JPG, WEBP and AVIF: JPG saves at 90 % by default, and a JPG 70 % preset makes smaller files.
  • Resize while converting, by percentage (for example half size) or to a maximum long edge.
  • JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
  • Batch: one file or hundreds, converted in parallel; a failure never stops the rest.
  • Private: files are converted on your PC and never uploaded, even without internet.
  • Saved next to the original, or in a folder and with a file name pattern you choose.
