WEBP
WebP image
WebP is Google's image format for the web. It supports lossy and lossless compression and transparency and is usually smaller than JPG or PNG, but some editors and upload forms still don't accept it.
Extensions: .webp
Convert WEBP files to JPG on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto JPG in Filee's format donut and the JPG files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one WEBP file or as many as you like.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over JPG. A progress ring counts up, and each JPG file is saved next to its original.
Pick JPG when the image is a photo and file size matters, for example for upload forms that reject WebP.

JPEG is the most widely used photo format. Its lossy compression keeps files small, but every save at lower quality discards some detail, and it has no transparency.
