How to convert RAW to JPG on Windows

    Select your RAW files

    In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one RAW file or as many as you like.

    Hold Ctrl and drag

    Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.

    Drop on JPG

    Release the files over JPG. A progress ring counts up, and each JPG file is saved next to its original.

What Filee does for RAW → JPG

Filee reads the RAW files of Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus/OM System, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung, Leica, Hasselblad, Phase One and more, and develops them with default settings. It's the quick way to get shareable JPGs from a shoot; for creative editing, use a RAW editor first.

  • Engine: ImageMagick.
  • Adjustable quality for JPG, WEBP and AVIF: JPG saves at 90 % by default, and a JPG 70 % preset makes smaller files.
  • Resize while converting, by percentage (for example half size) or to a maximum long edge.
  • Metadata (EXIF, XMP, colour profile) is kept by default and can be removed for privacy.
  • Batch: one file or hundreds, converted in parallel; a failure never stops the rest.
  • Private: files are converted on your PC and never uploaded, even without internet.
  • Saved next to the original, or in a folder and with a file name pattern you choose.

Camera RAW files (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, RAF, ORF and more) hold the unprocessed sensor data of a photo. They keep the most detail for editing but are large and need special software to view.
