HEIC (HEIF) is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. Photos are often about half the size of a JPG, but many Windows apps, websites and older devices can't open them.

HEIC to PNG converter

How to convert HEIC to PNG on Windows

Select your HEIC files
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one HEIC file or as many as you like.

Hold Ctrl and drag
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.

Release the files over PNG. A progress ring counts up, and each PNG file is saved next to its original.
What Filee does for HEIC → PNG
Choose PNG when you want to keep editing the photo without adding a round of JPG compression. PNG is lossless, so expect files several times larger than the HEIC original.

- Resize while converting, by percentage (for example half size) or to a maximum long edge.
- Metadata (EXIF, XMP, colour profile) is kept by default and can be removed for privacy.
