STL is the classic file for 3D printing. It stores only the triangles of a shape, with no colours or units, and every slicer and CAD program reads it.

How to convert STL to OBJ on Windows

Select your STL files
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one STL file or as many as you like.

Hold Ctrl and drag
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.

Drop on OBJ
Release the files over OBJ. A progress ring counts up, and each OBJ file is saved next to its original.
What Filee does for STL → OBJ
Open a print file in a 3D program that prefers OBJ. STL has no units, so Filee reads it as millimetres and writes OBJ in millimetres too, with Y pointing up like most 3D programs.
