MSG
Outlook message
MSG is the file Microsoft Outlook saves when you drag an e-mail out of it. Only Outlook opens it, so it is hard to read on a PC without Outlook or on a phone.
Extensions: .msg
Convert MSG files to PDF on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto PDF in Filee's format donut and the PDF files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one MSG file or as many as you like.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over PDF. A progress ring counts up, and each PDF file is saved next to its original.
E-mails dragged out of Outlook are MSG files that only Outlook opens. As PDF they keep the sender, recipients, date, subject and message, and open anywhere. Outlook isn't needed.

PDF document
PDF is the standard for sharing documents that must look the same everywhere. Fonts, layout and images are fixed, and it opens on any device. That also makes PDFs hard to edit.
