TXT
Plain text
TXT is plain text without any formatting, the simplest and most portable document format. The only thing that can differ is the character encoding (UTF-8, UTF-16 or a legacy code page).

Convert TXT files to PDF on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto PDF in Filee's format donut and the PDF files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one TXT file or as many as you like.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over PDF. A progress ring counts up, and each PDF file is saved next to its original.
Plain text becomes a clean A4 PDF with one paragraph per line. Filee recognises UTF-8 and UTF-16 as well as legacy Korean (CP949) text files, so old logs and notes don't turn into garbled characters.

PDF document
PDF is the standard for sharing documents that must look the same everywhere: fonts, layout and images are fixed and it opens on any device. That also makes PDFs hard to edit.
