MPEG-4 video
MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) is the most compatible video format. It plays on phones, TVs, browsers and every video site, usually with H.264 or H.265 video and AAC audio.

Convert MP4 files to MP3 on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto MP3 in Filee's format donut and the MP3 files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one MP4 file or as many as you like. The first time, Filee offers to download FFmpeg, the free engine it uses for this conversion.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over MP3. A progress ring counts up, and each MP3 file is saved next to its original.
Save the soundtrack of a lecture, concert or interview as an MP3 that plays everywhere: in the car, on an old player or in a transcription tool.
