SRT
SubRip subtitles
SRT (SubRip) is the most common subtitle file: numbered cues with start and end times and plain text. Nearly every player, editor and video site accepts it.
Extensions: .srt
Convert SRT files to WebVTT on Windows 10 and 11: free, offline and in batches. Drag the files onto WebVTT in Filee's format donut and the WebVTT files appear next to the originals.
In File Explorer or on the desktop, select one SRT file or as many as you like.
Hold Ctrl (or the key you set in Filee) and drag the files. A donut of formats opens at the cursor. Prefer menus? Right-click and choose Convert with Filee.
Release the files over WebVTT. A progress ring counts up, and each WebVTT file is saved next to its original.
Web players and online course platforms want WebVTT. Timing, line breaks and italics come across, and no engine is needed.
